THE SPILL FESTIVAL OF PERFORMANCE IS AN INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF LIVE ART, ACTIVISM AND PERFORMANCE PRESENTING THE WORK OF EXCEPTIONAL ARTISTS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE.
In Orgy of Tolerance, Jan Fabre explores the boundaries of what is considered normal through a series of absurd sketches that interrogate a society that has become excessively tolerant. Using actors, dancers and musicians, Fabre mocks a world where excess is normal, everything is possible and everything is available according to the credit cards in our pockets and 24 hour access, and any deviation from the norm is considered unacceptable – whilst also coming to the numbing realisation that nothing has the power to shock anymore.
Jan Fabre is one of the most influential, exciting and provocative artists working in the world today, working across disciplines of visual art, choreography and playwriting. For SPILL Fabre presents his work in London for the first time in seventeen years. He is one of the few live artists to exhibit work in the Louvre, Paris.
