Wind Pipes for Edinburgh is an extraordinary new instrument created by the artist Sarah Kenchington for Edinburgh Art Festival. Installed inside a 15th century church in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, Wind Pipes is constructed from almost 200 decommissioned organ pipes, plumbing and found objects.
For the festival, five contemporary composers working in a range of genres have been invited to write and perform new compositions for the instrument which are performed in a series of intimate concerts. This film shows one of these performances, featuring a new piece by composer and musician Daniel Padden.
