This thirty minute documentary film attempts to capture something of the history and spirit of the Magdalena Project- the international network of women in theatre. In the words of one contributor, Cristina Castillo: "Every Magdalena encounter is very potent. It creates the feeling that things could be different".
Footage from performances at two Magdalena festivals in 2011 (Cuba and Wales) help tell the story of how this network has evolved and thrived over its 25 year history, from a bold idea, to a global phenomenon. According to theatre historian Maggie Gale: "It works like a virus..."
