I used Turbulence FD and C4D to make this cloudscape.
It was a simple thin box shape with some noise in the temp channel. I duplicated the domain and offset it in space and scale to make the scene bigger. I keyframed the render frame offset and frame step so that it continually read from one cache frame, thus saving cache size and sim time.

It still needs more details but I was pretty happy with the speed of the render, about 1min 30 sec a frame.
