Our first attempt mashing up blooming currents w/ a cello in the studio, Just Below the Surface. The spike of the cello nested on the wood stand that this painting was balanced on the cymatic effect was not as obvious as I had hoped. None the less for an unrehearsed blind jump into this short collaborative experiment I'm left inspired by some snippets. All of this was shot w/ a wide angle lens attached to my iPhone, very DIY and it works great to capture raw concepts.
These cello tests are specifically related to my upcoming collaboration with the Canterbury Choral Society's Carmina Burana that will include 261 singers from Canterbury, the OCU University Men’s Chorus and the Ad Astra Women’s Chorus, 45 children from the Canterbury Youth Choruses program, and world-class soloists Penelope Shumate, Jeffrey Picon and Brandon Hendrickson and lead by Canterbury’s Artistic Director, Dr. Randi Von Ellefson. Fun times!
