"Leaps in time" of the choreographer Heike Hennig is the "dance theater" (mixture of theater and expressive dance) and includes autobiographic elements of the generations of dancers choreographed by Heike Hennig (70 min) . This is the new dance-theater according to the film “dancing with time” and the choreography “time – dancing since 1927”. This dance-theater is about the exchange between several generations of ballet dancers, which are moving between different energies, ideas and experiences. These dancing-moments are perceptible within the different dance-techniques. The Ensemble of Heike Hennig moves from expressive dance via the classical repertoire until the progressive dance-technique of “Contact-Improvisation” between the dancers. – Such spontaneous dance-meetings evoke a development in the young and older bodies.
The autobiographical dance-theater “Time – dancing since 1927“ (2005/2006) by Heike Hennig with the four older protagonists Ursula, Christa, Siegfried und Horst was produced by the film-maker Trevor Peters as “Dancing with time” for ZDF, ARTE and cinemas. “Dancing with time“ is also available on DVD and as a book, edited by the author Marion Appelt.
Moving Haendel a Dance Opera for Georg Friedrich Handel by Heike Hennig
Rituals and Ceremonies are anchor-places in the flowing of time. They are meetings, to remove time and create a new time-room, in which the big questions of human auto-affirmation are getting perceptible: funerals, weddings and birthdays, religious customs and personal rituals are the basis of the new production for opera-arias of Georg Friedrich Handel. The music of Handel, as we believe, holds and held on against in escaping times to the feeling of emptiness a conciliable consciousness of our momentariness. With a Hommage to Georg Friedrich Handel the scene, the music, the dance itself becomes anchor-places: to a ritual of bodies in a virtual world of disappearance.
