A great float down the Nantahala River in North Carolina on Labor Day weekend 2013. This was Amy's first whitewater experience and she may be hooked. The Nantahala is Cherokee for "Noon Day Sun". It sits deep in a gorge nestled in the Appalachain Mountains. The water is about 40 degrees so its nice and cool when floating. I kayaked while Amy was on a guided raft that we hired through Endless River Adventures. Rick was her guide and made the trip downriver the best. We will definitely be using ERA in the future. They are very friendly, professional, and make safety a priority.
