Sarek National Park (in Swedish Lapland) is the very definition of getting away from it all.
"There are no marked trails, cabins or amenities. Yes, every survivalists dream. You will not have to worry about bumping into your neighbour here. Maybe just the odd wild animal.
You can sing out loud, run naked, have monologues with yourself, and nobody will notice. Every Swede´s idea of freedom. But the park is not totally bereft of safety and comfort". (visitsweden.com/ wilderness hiking in Sarek)
We walked in the park for ten days, with alpine skis and boots. Unfortunately the weather was not very good for off- piste skiing (windy, foggy), but we enjoyed some few turns (we do not have on tape) we earned and outdoor living.
