Unfortunately this video does our trip no justice. So I'll give a brief overview of the epic adventure we had.
-It all started with a four hour motorcycle ride down the coast of the island Cebu. We started on the west coast, drove across the island through the mountains, and the headed the rest of the way down the east coast. Along the way we stopped at small towns for breaks, and couldn't ask for better weather. We finally arrive at our destination, just a few kilometers south of the quiet town of Moal Boal. The resort set up our tents for us while we had beers on the beach and watched an amazing sunset. After a campfire, timelapse footage, and talking with other westerners there camping, we turned in.
The next day we decided to head to Kawasan fall, which are a little touristy, but we wanted a "relaxing" day. An hour later, a local guy asked if we wanted to go Canyoning. He said it'd be easy and only take a few hours. Sounded great since we wanted to head to the large cock fighting arena at around four.
After riding our bikes up the mountain, and then down a scarey dirt path, our local guides lead us to the river.
-No helmets, no ropes, no safety gear, but some old life jackets.
We only got footage of our first waterfall before our batteries died, but there were 20 more to follow. An amazing journey down the river, that a booked tour will never show you. Just two local guys took us places we shouldn't have been, and are all thankful for getting out alive. Four hours later, after seeing some amazing sites, and a family of monkeys in the wild, we made it to the end. Broken, brusied, and just shot of all addrenilin, we headed back to the camp for a nice dinner and a peaceful night.
What an awesome weekend.
Enjoy this quick look into the adventure we had.
