Here is a recap of the PLAY Exhibit before, during and after the event dates!
The PLAY Exhibit was the brainchild of nineteen exceptional multimedia artists from De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde which aimed to showcase the team's interpretation of "fresh perspectives and creativity with no boundaries as solutions to problems" or "Think. Play. Create." It incorporated puzzles and games that have influenced everyone's childhood and continue to influence ways of thinking and perceiving everywhere. PLAY emphasized the importance of playfulness in the creative process and acknowledges that it is an integral part of finding solutions to various problems.
The exhibit was a celebration of creativity and imagination. It displayed each artist's creative portfolio that went beyond the boundaries of print, graphic design, web design and development, 3D animation, 2D animation, game design and development, photography and film. The team was composed of Zhaira Arcadio, Near Esven, Mark Buencamino, Chelsea Ciel Chan, Tricia de Ocampo, Steph Dycaico, Ayama Akuna, Rosevin Jacob, Abigail Javellana, Jei Lim, Sam Malimban, Viana Nable, JM Nalangan, Charlene Ngo, Joe Ortigas, Kaelo Pascual, Monmon Tan, Dale Toloza and Ken Yuson.
PLAY was in partnership with the Philippine Toy Library, an organization that focuses on providing less privileged children in cramped, congested areas, the experience of play. It is dedicated to transforming idle spaces into fun and educational playrooms to keep kids off the streets. By partnering with PTL, the PLAY Exhibit became more than just a showcase of art and inspiration, but an avenue for sharing of gifts and learning with society's youth as well.
The event took place in Le Parc Event Hall, EDSA corner Roxas Boulevard, Metropolitan Park, Bay Area CBD, Pasay City, Metro Manila on August 23 - 24, 2013.
