Carol McDaid is a woman in long-term recovery since 1997 and is co-founder and Principal of Capitol Decisions Inc. Capitol Decisions (capitoldecisions.com) focuses on federal policy, with a special emphasis on alcohol and other drug policy. For over 15 years, Carol has worked with leading non-profit drug and alcohol treatment centers, addiction physicians, prevention and consumer organizations to refine public policy addressing alcohol and other drug addiction. She led the Parity NOW Coalition building support for enactment of the “Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act” in 2008 and heads up the Parity Implementation Coalition today. She was a founding board member of Faces & Voices of Recovery and served as its Board Chair, and received the Johnson Institute’s America Honors Recovery Award in 2007. Carol is also the co-founder of the McShin Foundation (mcshinfoundation.org).
