SAYREVILLE - A popular club and music venue shut down since Sandy tore through it more than 10 months ago celebrated it's grand reopening Friday.
The iconic Starland Ballroom featured the Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington and other artists.
The venue has brand new flooring, a new light system, and three new bars. The Starland Ballroom opened back in 2003, and in that time, it's been flooded on three different occasions. Superstorm Sandy dumped six feet of water into the venue and it was destroyed. General manager Colin Conway says the reopening was a major step for the community. "It's not only a new chapter for the Starland Ballroom, but also for the people of
Sayreville, so we're happy to be back on line."
