Two people are standing, facing each-other, holding hands. Their gender is not discernible, it could be a heterosexual, lesbian or gay couple. Love stories have happy beginnings, and this one is no exception, loveliness explodes all around the blissful couple. Suddenly, this love story takes a wrong turn and heads towards a dark place, where one person is the victim and the other turns into the perpetrator of domestic violence. The hardest part of being a victim is to acknowledge the abuse and to react, but hoping that things will change and return to that first moment of happiness prevent victims from seeking help.
'Safe from harm' is a Teesside University dissertation project created by Elena Molisani. The music is composed and performed by Leila Adu leilaadu.com, the track is called Love Cells and it is taken from the homonymous album.
