"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depend a good deal on where you want to get to," said the cat.
"I don't much care where-" said Alice
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the cat.
"-so long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation.
"Oh, you're sure to do that," said the cat, "If you only walk long enough."
from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) by Lewis Carroll
To me this piece is about the discord that occurs as you cling onto your youth with dear life, but are trying to accept the responsibilities of adulthood at the same time.
It is about trying to hold onto your passions, never get jaded, and never giving up. Wanting to do everything and not accepting the reality that it might not be possible. Remembering that everything is achievable. All the cards you are handed matter. Every single moment, every experience is important. There is no such thing as wasted time when you are following your heart.
I can subsit on little and thrive for more as long as I never give up on my dreams. Even if I have no idea where my feet are going. I will be where I need to be as long as I stay authentic. In my realiness, I know what I need to do and where I need to be. Fearlessness is autheticity in life. I am alive and so grateful that I am alive!
Please make sure to listen to this loudly because there are some bass notes that you cannot hear on a low volume.
The footage is from free archives - commercials, alice and wonderland, and betty boop cartoons.
