An RC Glider (Bixler 1400) crashed into heavy old sugar cane, and proved impossible to find. So we sent up an RC Phoenix 2m motor-glider with a rear-facing camera and scanned the whole area. It took multiple viewings of the resulting video to spot it for 1 sec of the several minutes of video. Two intrepid and highly experienced (some would say a little crazy) rescuers (Keith and Bill) armed with compasses, 2-way radios and a fear of snakes staggered through the cane and vines, and Keith finally located it, right where the camera had shown. It was in two pieces (a lot less than the usual number after a prang), and will be flying again. The rescuers declined a national interview. They will, however, star in the upcoming movie "The Great Bixler Recovery and Snakophobia."
