I've been trying to do a bunch of quick (3-5 second) shots lately. The idea is to do at least one a week (when the week is up i call it done) experimenting with different techniques or different styles of shots.
This one incorporated a bunch of new stuff for me. I've never done a quad first of all, but i also built this by first animating a treadmill loop using a layered animation approach. I then took the loop, made it work as a linear walk in space, baked it and added additional animation on top to give it some character. The dog rig is a bit wonky, but part of my belief in these tests is working within the constraints of the rig in the time i've allowed myself.
