The kind of love God demands is complete. (Luke 14:26, Mark 12:30)
" ' The best I have to give is not what You demand.' The entire book of John is not about a people making themselves right before God. It's about a God who 'put on flesh and dwelt among us' (John 1:4)."
Peter had failed the Lord. He had walked and talked with Jesus, witnessed him healing the blind and sick, and he completely denied and abandoned him.
"The Lord has the power to rescue and save, even make beautiful even the ugliest of sinners. Failure is not final."
"Jesus is not asking you to be what He needs you to be, He wants to meet you on the scene."
So be honest.
"Lord, this is the best I have to give, you know my heart." Jesus will come and He will meet your need.
Cause my little to become Your much. Where Jesus Christ is, there is forgiveness, there is healing, there is wholeness.
