A burning vacant warehouse in Kensington collapsed and killed Robert Neary, a Philadelphia Fire Captain. Months prior to the fatality, the warehouse owners had been cited three times for failing to keep property safely secured from trespassers. Two weeks before the fire, the Hidden City Daily reported that Jeff Carpineta, the president of the East Kensington Neighborhood Association, "Carpineta fears that arson might claim the building." Philadelphia attorney, Tom Sheridan, is representing Captain Neary's family against the warehouse owners, Brooklyn-based Yechiel and Michael Lichtenstein of YML Realty Holdings.
