Nothing is more important than educating Idaho's children so the doors of opportunity are open for them, whatever they choose to do. A well-educated person can take more control over the direction of their lives. A brighter future should be available to every child in Idaho, regardless of zip code, race or income. But Idaho needs to do better to prepare its students for success beyond high school.
This conversation is urgent, and it is critical to our children's futures, as we seek to create effective and timely improvements to our education system. Education should be Idaho's number one priority. State and local stakeholders need to be informed to help them drive change. When the Idaho Legislature convenes in January 2014, we hope education will be at the top of their agenda.
