Maureen Fleming invents surreal movement poetry that transforms how we think of the human body. In a world beyond rationality and nationality, she brings her contemporary unveiling of the myth of Persephone to the stage featuring text by David Henry Hwang and music by Philip Glass. This beautiful, multimedia meditation on 'miracles' juxtaposes Fleming's new and repertory works with three-dimensional video projections designed by longtime collaborator Christopher Odo.
With funding from the National Endowment for the Arts: Art Works and Mertz Gilmore Foundation Maureen Fleming Company's evening length 'B Madonna' premiered at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theater from October 17 - November 3, 2013. Featuring the best of Fleming's new and repertory work, 'B Madonna' was presented to critical acclaim in NYC and followed by presentations at the FILO Festival in Londrina, Brazil August 22 - 24th, 2014 and was featured in the Women of Substance Series at St. Catherine University O'Shaughnessy Auditorium November 7th, 2015 and listed in the Minneapolis Star Tribune’s “Best Dance 2015.”
