Many years ago Ernst Tobey was a child prodigy who played piano at concerts and events. At the age of 16, he wrote a piece for violin and piano, which then sat in a box of papers as he grew up and his life took turns away from music. His son inherited the box, and one day, when digging through the papers, started wondering what the music would sound like. He turned to a pair of music teachers, who cleaned up the manuscript, practiced it for a bit, and finally invited Tobey and members of his family to a performance. Here is Ernst Tobey's "Andante", played for the first time since 1935, together with commentary.
