"....a sharp and moving reminder of what can happen when a society no longer has a place for the outsider"
- The Irish Times
"This remakable documentary...may have made some of us realise that 'there, but for the grace of God, go I,"
- The Observer
A Fragile City is about people who become outsiders in society and find themselves homeless on the streets. Made against the background of a then economically booming Ireland we sought in collaboration with Alice Leahy, the co-founder of TRUST, and a prophetic voice in defense of the outsider to discover why at a time of plenty was homelessness increasing.
Christy Moore recorded a special version of Quiet Desperation for the documentary and it also featured poet Micheal O'Siadhail from whom we borrowed the title for the film.
