It's a piece of registration that I've made during my way. I walked alone for 5 days from Lodz to Czestochowa on a Festival of Contemporary Art - ART.erie. I walked about 150 km through small villages and forests.
It needs to be add that Czestochowa is in Poland one of the most famous place from pilgrimages all over the world to Jasna Gora Sanctuary of the God's Mother. This was my inspiration.
During the performance I was singing on the open space, on the fields. Mostly I was singing using my emotions at the particulary moment, there are no words. The specific kind of voice that I use, which is characteristic for the east and south-east Europe, has for me something spiritual in itself. I meditate with my back to the camera, embodying the detachment from gender, culture, time, thought, and ego inherent in meditation.
This work deals with the perception of being “present”. By developing our ability to focus our attention away from “thinking”.
I am interested in creating an experience that invites people to access their senses, and practice an awareness of everyday life.
