This reconstruction is based on the currently available data for the accident involving US Airways Flight 1549 (a.k.a. Cactus 1549). This is a combination of: Ground-based radar data, onboard data from the aircraft [the flight data recorder], audio transcripts and recordings, satellite imagery and other GIS-based data, witness accounts and other data from the NTSB docket.
The reconstruction is rendered primarily using Lightwave 3D and composited with Adobe Premiere. A large number of other software tools were utilized as well, including Global Mapper, Open Office, and custom code written using Microsoft Visual Studio.
