Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is earmarked by inflammation and damaged to joints and surrounding tissues. Often this is brought on by injury and/or infection as a trigger, along with potential genetic predisposition to environmental factors. What is poorly appreciated is the role of hormone deficiency in RA, and the impact of cortisol deficiency as a factor for inflammation and immune function control. This presentation will explain why everyone with RA should have their adrenal hormones levels assessment and treatment options for deficiencies.
