Last year, I spent a day with then-Assemblyman and now State Senator George Latimer. We traveled throughout his district documenting his regular interactions with regular people.

Mr. Latimer credits his success in politics to getting to know his constituents on a personal level, and by going out in the community and talk about the issues. This experience provides the Senator with different perspectives which he can then bring to the Assembly in Albany. In our interviews with Senator Latimer we learned why he resists the idea of being known as a "career politician" as he tries to represent people aggressively every day as if it was his first day on the job.
