This is an older composition of mine, created in 2012. The music makes use of a combinatorial software I wrote specifically for this piece. I wrapped the resulting material around a pensive piano improvisation, which I recorded in one take. I ended up with an interesting mix of two different worlds, as I thoroughly manufactured one part of my score, while spontaneously filling up the other.
I also created the video myself, closely following the same concept: I wrote a piece of software to produce part of the fractal-like imagery you see; then, using nothing but my smartphone, I took an amateur shot of hoar-frost settled on pine needles in the neighborhood. It took me about a month to put everything together as you see it.
Hope you enjoy it!
