2013's Serpentine Pavilion saw Sou Fujimoto invited to design his first building in the UK. Stephenson / Bishop were invited along to photograph both the construction of the project and the completed structure as well as interview Sou and produce a short video for both the architect and the gallery.
Jim's stills of the project can be seen on Dezeen... dezeen.com/2013/06/04/serpentine-gallery-pavilion-2013-sou-fujimoto-photos/
Sou Fujimoto, the youngest designer to undertake the annual pavilion project, created a cloud like structure from a series of steel grids, to reflect the green setting of Hyde Park. For us, filming and photographing the project, it was fascinating to see how this grid like structure took on a playful element as people climbed up and down the building and explored the 'inside' of it.
We were ably assisted by Liam Clarke and Jack Hart.
