The peaceful warrior’s series eight
We fight a bloodless war on the bandstand, every time we play a show this bandstand is a spiritual place and this bloodless war we fight is a inner bloodless war, to beat the lesser self that lives within us all, and this spiritual place is the place that we make the greater self the self that plays the music, this happened at Market, Market on 11/5/09 with and all star group. With the head professor at Bard collage John Esposito on piano, and Grammy award winning bass player Malcolm Cecil bass, and of course there is
Bugalu Smith himself doing what he dozes best playing drums this is a powerful and a must see to experience performance.

Inside each of us is an individual voice unique to only us. That's how important each of us is. When we connect with voices of others, we blend through sound vibration as musicians. The sensitivity of each other's feelings interacts and the "SPIRITUAL STAGE" of the bandstand becomes the center of The Universe. THE PEACEFUL WARRIOR fights and protects TRUTH, eliminating selfishness by honoring the gift of the HIGHER SELF which is beyond who we might think we are. As soon as we play MUSIC we are in the GROOVE ZONE or that area that only knows LOVE and this LOVE HEALS and results in ULTIMATE PEACE, NO EGO IS INVOLVED. It is a "BLOODLESS WAR". This example of honoring the "The Higher Self" is evident as Marvin senses each feeling from both the audience and John Esposito and Malcolm Cecil. Malcolm's solo expressions are incredibly unique to him only and you can learn about his personality just be feeling the silence between the notes. John moves from one cluster of love to another developing percussive statements on the piano as if he's also a drummer stimulating time itself. Malcolm continues grooving hard along with BU GA LU. It's always there throughout the song. Building and building on top of each other's need for LOVE, and then, they all become a UNIT OF LOVE and everyone can start to feel the joy that each of the players have for being there and handing out this joy to you, the listener. The music speaks for itself and this energy flows without any thought process. A residual flow becomes present and remains there till the last note. There is a silence along the way, a meditative state that you can enter and be healed through this joyful, Unstresful flow that has been created here as you finish listening but because you feel so good, you've just begun the healing process. HOLD ON TO THOSE MOMENTS OF JOY. You've won the battle, The "BLOODLESS" BATTLE. You've overcome your own ego!
