The 2012 edition of the Socle du Monde biennial - "Involver" - focused on distinct collaborations between Danish organizations (public & private) and international artists. Wooloo's chosen partner was the Ikast-Brande Municipality.
The municipality invited Wooloo to help activate the local citizens; prompting them to make a more active contribution towards shouldering the tasks that their society faces.
"Active Citizens for a Good Community" is the municipality slogan. The objective: to cut down on welfare and let private initiatives take over.
Wooloo responded to the task by creating the Ikast-Brande Spiritual Council - an advisory body consisting of three carefully selected 'clairvoyants' (psychics) from the local area whose intentions will be to advise the municipality's leadership on certain topics and issues using their own ways of prudence.
Ikast-Brande Municipality covers an area of Denmark that, within spiritual communities, is regarded as particularly energetic and sacred. In fact, many of the so-called 'alternative societies' have settled and grounded themselves in this particular locale.
From the opening of the Socle du Monde, in September 2012, and for at least one year after, the Ikast-Brande Spiritual Council will be an official advisory body to the municipality.
In addition to the films exhibited at Herning Museum of Contemporary Art (HEART), Wooloo has arranged an activity program for school classes prepared by Egon Arvad, a member of the spiritual council. The program focuses on the dissemination of the spiritual world for children, including topics such as reincarnation, natural beings, and consciousness attachment on children's own spiritual abilities.
After some uncertainties about the project within the Ikast-Brande Kommune, the Ikast-Brande Spiritual Council came to an abrupt ending. This sequence of events is represented in this film.
"While the work of art actively confirms the view of Ikast-Brande's topology as irrefutably sacred, this holy force is also directly linked to utterly mundane objectives; a move that we must, all things considered, regard as obscene".
