In October, 1962, the screen's No.1 shock expert, producer Lawrence Woolsey was ready to release MANT! his latest offering of atomic power gone beserk. MANT! featured Woolsey's latest cinema gimmicks "Atomo-Vision" and "Rumble Rama". After a wildly successful road-show preview in Key West, Florida, the unthinkable happened -- the 35mm negative, which Woolsey had "borrowed" from his Hollywood film lab -- went up in flames! Today, no complete version of MANT! exists.
Reconstructed from the film's original theatrical trailer elements and the theatre manager's 1962 home movie of the Florida preview event, this 9-minute reconstruction of MANT! represents the most complete version of the original 88-minute shocker. Producer Lawrence Woolsey would go on to produce more horror movies, most notably the 1966 classic, "UFZ! Unidentified Flying Zombies" -- but there would never be another MANT!
