THE JFK UNSPOKEN SPEECH COMMUNITY PROJECT.
A CONCEPT BY PETER WOOD & CLIFF SIMMS. resident-alien.us
Some fifty years after his assassination and as a tribute to JFK, it is our hope and heartfelt desire to have the Citizens of Dallas, deliver the essence of his Unspoken Speech.
Through these seven short films, we will highlight selected paragraphs, that when considered
against recent world events, read as powerful insightful statements.
They show our 35th President articulating some of his most basic ideals. About how peace and freedom cannot be based on nuclear weapons alone. About how America’s status in the
world is tied, not only to economic or military might, but to practicing at home the equal rights and social justice it preaches abroad.
Fifty years on, these short films, created from some 351 words of the JFK Unspoken Speech
will be delivered by a diverse group of Dallas Citizens. Some holding single words, some voicing the speech, some singing. Each offering their own personal tribute.
Today, we believe these unspoken words are as relevant, if not more relevant than when they were written back in ‘63.
It is our intent to have all seven films completed by 11.22.2013. Half a century later, this is our collective tribute to John F. Kennedy, from the Citizens of Dallas.
NB. The Trade Mart Building was the destination of the President’s motorcade in 1963.
JFK was scheduled to give this Unspoken Speech at 1pm to 2,600 people at a sold-out luncheon.
The Unspoken Speech project is a community-driven initiative.
It will allow the Citizens of Dallas to honor the memory of President John F. Kennedy.
And commemorate the 50th year since his assassination in their own way.
By delivering JFK's, Unspoken Speech, one word, one Dallas citizen at a time.
WHY WE STARTED THIS.
For nearly 50 years, the Citizens of Dallas have had to live with JFK’s assassination.
So it is only fitting that we honor the 35th Presidents memory.
By uniting around his words, they silently deliver his final thoughts and the Unspoken Speech.
WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE.
The Unspoken Speech is a personal tribute to JFK from the Citizens of Dallas.
In completing this project, we hope to bring a small sense of closure.
To a catastrophic event that impacted the world and the reputation of our home.
