Ian Skelly became the last person to interview Sir John Tavener on camera before his death in November 2013 at the age of 69. It formed part of a short film by Ian Skelly on the Temenos Academy Conference held at St Hilda's College, Oxford, in September 2013. The theme of the weekend was "Ancient Springs: The Arts, Imagination and Our World" and featured many eminent speakers, including the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams and Professor Roger Scruton. The Academy commissioned one of the last pieces Sir John ever wrote which he dedicated to the memory of the poet, Kathleen Raine, one of the co-founders of the Academy and the driving force behind much of its work until her death in 2003. It was premiered during the weekend which opened with a video address by the Patron of the Academy, HRH The Prince of Wales.
