The International Coastal Clean up Day was done yesterday on the beach of El Escambrón at San Juan, Puerto Rico this annual event that was hosted by the Scuba Dogs Society and counted with the collaboration of the University of Sacred Hearth with students and faculty volunteers, and other organizations like: Disney Volunteers, Churchs, other Universities like UMET and University of Puerto Rico. The event even counted with the participation of Puerto Rico Senate with their volunteers and Girls Scouts of PR, private schools and public schools of the area.
This event has been done for 3 years consecutive on the Escambrón beach to make awareness of the environment problems on our beaches and to maintain them clean. For Captain of Sector 10th Davnny Rodriguez the experience of seeing the volunteers set the goal and that’s what she is looking for every year, that more people can go and help in the annual event. For Jose Orlando captain of sector 9 and 10th that where adopted by the University of Sacred Hearth says that the activity was made to build a sense of belonging for our students and our community.
This event is held annual, but you can find other similar activities or events around the year. This was Martha Damacela for marthadamacelaperez.com and Fulls Sail Univeristy
