Tom Nelson (one of the partners of Bear Jam Productions) took a break from his career and undertook a 1.5 year project. The Daring Dynamos cycled 22,000km across three continents in aid of the fantastic charity War Child UK.
Everything he needed to survive was carried on his bicycle. A third of the weight consisted of basic camera equipment to capture the story.
During our stay at Njaya Lodge in the lovely Nkhata Bay of Lake Malawi, we discovered this musical gem. The whole experience turned out to be one of the most authentic and interesting musical adventures of our journey.
Mattias Stålnacke is a Swedish expat who moved to Lake Malawi to set up a recording studio and help produce the local musicians. We managed to film the Jah Family band as they recorded tracks for their CD and performed interviews to ask about the importance of music.
Here is the third of three videos of the Mattias and Jah Family Band experience. The brilliant and catchy performance of "Kakoa"!
Filmed in Mattias' home / recording studio while the rain thumped down on the roof above us and the music played away indoors.
Brought to you by Daring Dynamos - cycling the world for the ultimate musical experience, all in aid of War Child UK.
