When I showed up to Anne Sydney’s house to film her and her bridesmaids getting ready, I was greeted by a drove of excited women scurrying, in their ‘preparation robes’, on to the front lawn. “The helicopter is here!” Wait. What? Sure enough. I ripped out my camera and grabbed the first shot of the day: A helicopter circling ridiculously low over the neighborhood with a group of very excited girls waving at it. And so it went.
This film tells the story of two people who grew up together in a small town in Kentucky. Apparently, everyone around them (including their parents) knew they were set to be wed. It just took them a little while to figure it out for themselves! Along with equal parts emotional and hysterical tellings of Anne Sydney and Jesse’s story, the setting (their home town of Pikeville, KY) painted one of the most gorgeous landscapes we’ve ever come across. Look for the double-rainbow timelapse, the enchanting Sperry tent (which you could see on the mountain from the town below), firework show (!!!), and don’t forget the cake (it was roughly five feet tall)!
Some production notes: This is an example of our “Experience” option, where we film events apart from the wedding day. In this case, a golf scramble, a bridal luncheon, the rehearsal dinner, and a brunch the day after.
Fun fact: While this wedding was being filmed in Kentucky, we were also working on this previously blogged GORG wedding in Michigan!
