At the Urban Institute of Mathematics (UIM), principal Jennifer Joynt has reprogrammed her school so that every child receives one full period of daily reading instruction designed around the reading needs of each child. UIM offers Wilson, Phonics Blitz, small group reading instruction, and enrichment during this time. Students are able to move in and out of classes based on progress, stagnation or regression.
In this video, a 6th grade special education teacher explains how his school reprogrammed to meet the needs of their learners. He also discusses the impact of Wilson on his reading group.
