Based on Elliot Woods VVVV patch for kinect-projector calibration, an openframeworks addon was created calibrate a kinect and a projector, fast and easy. The process takes about two minutes.
Once in the calibration mode, a chessboard is projected on using the projector. The kinect captures this projection and knows the depth, allowing us to calibrate the projector to the kinect. For each pixel detected by the kinect in 3D space, we can thus determine the position for the same pixel in 2D projector space.
