When she was just a few months old, Alexis was diagnosed with Osteogenesis imperfecta, a condition causing extremely fragile bones. After her diagnosis, her parents thought she might never walk again. However, her treatment at Miami Children's Hospital has changed what they thought would be possible for little Alexis.
This is the first in a series of videos produced by DanPerezFilms.com to support the mission of South Florida businessman and philanthropist Mike Fernandez who will walk more than 500 miles across the Pyrenees from France to Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain on the pilgrimage route known as The Way of St. James or El Camino. His goal is to raise $3 million for Miami Children's Hospital where Daniela, the youngest of his two granddaughters, had life-saving heart surgery earlier this year.
