Longlapses: Mannerheimintie South 2pm-4am in a busy street in Helsinki, in May. The project "Longlapses" explores human perception, the brief moments of memory's attention and those long forgotten.
Miska Knapek's "Longlapses" aims, through moments of longer attention, at opening eyes and spirit to life in order to regain being's chaotic trace hidden from society and nature. In the traces and the compressed time, the movements of nature are caught between the changing light and shadow, but the same goes for "being" in society, which traces his life visually. As if a physical object - the sleep, awake, leave, work, transport, return, sleep of society-- prints itself visually.
The spatiotemporal view allows one to see movements of society as a whole, rather than just indivudals. Notice the 'swarm' of activity by the road.
