We asked students and faculty at Church Farm School, a small private boys boarding school about 25 minutes out of Philadeplphia, PA, some questions about AP in their school. As a school forming students from grades 7 to 12 and of about 180 boys (including a 56% diversity rate), there are only around 6 AP classes offered. We asked them questions such as:
Why did you as students choose to take an AP course?
What kind of student does it take to succeed in classes like this?
What does each course look like?
Advantages and Benefits of the classes for Students
Consequences of taking multiple AP classes
The AP Test - What does it look like? Preparation that goes into it
Students included seniors Marco Lorenz, Ahn Nguyen (2011 AP Scholar), Josh Myers, Jun Chul Moon, and John Choi as well as teachers Mrs. Sarah O'neill (AP Lit), Mr. Omar Otero (AP Calc), Dr. Robert Broadrup (AP Chem), Mr. Eric Fulmer (AP History).
