Print Screen is my fist video installation and appeared at the Big House festival, in Castletown House in August 2013. Inspired by Castletowns famous Print Room (castletownhouse.ie/TouroftheHouse/ThePrintRoom/) it is composed of 22 cinemagraphs, or loops from well known films. It was projected across three walls in a room in the house during the festival. This video gives a little taste of what it was like in the (projected) flesh.
Official Blurb: Inspired by the famous Print Room in Castletown House, Print Screen is a multimedia instillation combining video, photos, graphics and projection to create a synthesis of the aesthetic concerns of the original print room creators with modern multimedia techniques, attempting to find the constants between visual creation 300 years ago and today. Composed of 22 looping videos, mostly taken from well known films, Print Screen cascades across the senses, building constant motion to create an effect at once serene and surprising.
