Founded in 1888, Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines is the country’s oldest non-profit organization of its kind, dedicated to providing a comfortable retirement for horses, who have faithfully served their owners or who were rescued from abusive situations.
Located on 383 beautiful acres of rolling hills in Chester County, Pennsylvania, Ryerss Farm provides a wonderful facility where horses can live out their golden years in comfort and dignity. Once a horse retires at Ryerss he is never worked, never goes to auction and is never used for experimentation. He (or she) simply spends his days grazing and enjoying life with his friends. We have over seventy five horses in residence who are loved by staff, volunteers and the many visitors who come to the farm. Every horse at Ryerss has a history and a story to tell. Their past careers include: racing, trail riding, hunting, polo, police work, dressage, eventing & and other show disciplines, therapeutic riding, endurance riding, and pleasure riding.
