"The Grandmother's Tale" is the oldest version of Little Red Riding Hood. Long before the 1790’s, when Charles Perrault wrote "La Petit Chaperone Rouge" (which became "Little Red Cap" and then "Little Red Riding Hood"), and had it published, there was a better version told orally by French storytellers, who were generally women. It was called 'The Grandmother’s Tale' or 'Le Histoire du Grandmere'.
This campaign igg.me/at/storytree-new-cd/x/2242226 is to help me produce a new storytelling CD for kids called "Reaching for the Moon' and other wisdom tales." They will be stories to prevent bullying and build character.
I found the story via a wonderful article 'The Path of Needles or Pins:
