I made a series of these films for Rolex, this one was my favourite. Rolex had a great attitude for craft with their films, avoiding CGI and shooting on film. Without going as far as building our own lenses for the job we found that we could create amazing macro images by inverting prime lenses onto the camera. The wider the lens the more macro it would get. The focus ring becomes defunct but with every lens there is a certain distance from the subject that will make it spring into a macro image, crystal and sharp as can be, albeit with a depth of field of as little as 1mm. So we could just about pull focus by leaning into the eyepiece and breathing, creating massive images with tiny things.
