The documentary «Résistance» is a humorous-philosophical examination of the fundamental problems in this day and age. Of a world in which the main societal consensus agrees upon not further questioning the collective madness: insatiable consumerism bereft of any ethics, unleashed financial markets, social inequality, ecological devastation.
It’s a system that regards selfishness and survival of the fittest as irrevocable laws of nature. It’s the incapability of our time to be stuck for suitable answers.
Exactely at this incapability «Résistance» by director Patrick Kappeler joins in. Disenchanted with his life as a promotional filmmaker, outraged about the apparent stupidity of the world yet deeply disappointed in his own passiveness, he decides to end his moral dilemma and look for answers instead.
His question is simple, almost provocative: «How can I save the world?» Essentially he means: «What can I do to be part of the solution?» With a pair of fresh eyes, a healthy dose of humor and the desire to dare
something new he embarks on a journey to receive concrete solutions from the eminent thinkers and idols of our time.
