A high dynamic range video typically exhibit a much larger dynamic range than the display on which it is viewed. It is therefore necessary to map the larger dynamic range of the input sequence to match that of the display. This is called tone mapping.
This video is part of a research project where we compare and evaluate different tone mapping operators to each other. The result is that none of the compared operators works satisfactory for a variety of input HDR-sequences. This video shows how six of the compared operators perform.
