The School Board has approved a number of construction projects across the District, beginning this spring and summer. Many of these projects are part of the District's long term maintenance plan which helps keep all school facilities in a state of good repair. We expect many of these upgrades to provide high quality learning environments for our students for more than 50 years.
The funding for these projects comes mainly from long term maintenance bond funds and savings from prior projects that were completed under budget. By structuring bond issues, these projects are being completed without a property tax increase.
The District also appreciates a partnership with Tonka United Soccer combined with a $75,000 grant from the Hennepin County Youth Sports Program that will fund improvements to athletic fields at Minnetonka High School.
