In our video from last week, "Identify the Constraint", we showed you how an agile Task Board allows you to easily identify a constraint within a Scrum team. (Kanban also provides the same capability with its Kanban board.)
Now that you know how to pinpoint the constraint within your Kanban or Scrum system, you can work on breaking that constraint. Step number two in the "Five Focusing Steps" of the Theory of Constraints shows you how to break the constraint by first exploiting it.
In this third segment, I will explain what it means to "exploit the constraint" by highlighting its time and unique capability. We'll also show you how to further take advantage of the constraint by creating an even and balanced flow of work through it.
