A sound- and videoinstallation inspired by the novel “Fyr” (“Lighthouse”) by Magnus Dahlström.
Sound artist Kent Gustafsson wanted to make an installation that recreated the barren and windswept feeling in the book. Together with film maker Fredrik Oskarsson and HUMlab, they created an interactive installation for the floor screen in HumLab X in Umeå!
With the inspiration and input from Kent and Fredrik, HUMlabs computer technician Jim Robertsson and system administrator Johan von Boer have programmed the floor screen to react on the persons walking on the floor. The footprints and movements of people walking on the floorscreen triggers sounds, photographs and film sequences, and each participant will be surrounded by their own unique experience of the Lighthouse.
The production is made possible with support from DinoLab, Kulturbryggan and KonstnärsCentrumNord.
